As soon as the Algerian Air Force plane landed at Tindouf military airport, the Cuban delegation of artists and other cultural figures enjoyed a warm welcome before giving their second and final performance there.

It was just a small sign of gratitude from people who say they are indebted to a sister nation that has been an example of challenge, determination, and friendship for over 35 years.

The Cuban Revolution "has trained our sons and healed our patients, and we will never forget that," said the governor of that province in the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, Mohamed Lamin Dadi.
