The number of Cuban émigrés who returned to their homeland to celebrate New Year's Day was such that three terminals had to be opened at José Martí Airport to accommodate up to 16 daily flights from the United States, reports BBC Mundo's Fernando Ravsberg.
The photograph shows mechanic Eliseo de la Campa welcoming his daughter Carla, who lives in Miami and owns a beauty shop. A gallery of photos by BBC Mundo's Raquel Pérez illustrating the family reunion can be accessed here.
