Cuba Awarded in Holland’s Tourism Fair

During the first day of the event, Cuba, together with Indonesia, Portugal and Slovenia, excelled in this effort. The acknowledgement was widely covered by the Dutch specialized press, the Cuban Tourism Ministry reports in a communiqué.
The Cuban stand, located in the area of the Villa del Caribe, showed an interesting design, based on the typical colonial architecture, which was given atmosphere by way of pieces from the new publicity campaign, “Genuine Cuba”.
Another attraction was the presence of a cigar roller, which arouse the interest of visitors eager to know details about the process of preparing the worldwide known Havana cigars.
The Fair was an excellent opportunity to promote the main events of this sector to be held in the Caribbean nation this year, like the Colony Photosub –scheduled for April 10-14, and the International Tourism Fair (FITCUBA 2011), from May 2nd through the 7th.
Also announced were the next edition of the Ernest Hemingway International Marlin Fishing Tournament from June 6th through the 11th, and the event of Nature Tourism (Turnat 2011), to take place from September 26th through the 30th.
The Cuban delegation was made up by executives from its Tourism Office in Benelux, officials from the Cubatur travel agency, and from the Sol Melia Group.Also participating were Cuban diplomats in the Netherlands.
