2011.02.03/radiorebelde.Posada, confessed author of the midair sabotage to a Cuban airliner in 1976.HAVANA, Cuba.- The Venezuela-Cuba Mutual Solidarity Movement stated that the trial of Luis Posada Carriles in El Paso, Texas was a sham, and reiterated its request of extraditing the terrorist to Venezuela.

The coordinator of the movement, Rosalinda Chanaga, told Prensa Latina news agency that it is absurd to take Posada to trial for lying to US migration authorities regardless of 73 homicide charges awaiting him in Venezuela.  

Chanaga noted that it is a contradiction the fact that Washington protects this criminal, while sentencing five Cuban antiterrorists to very harsh terms for trying to prevent terrorist actions against Cuba.

She said that extraditing Luis Posada Carriles to Venezuela, as it was requested five years ago, would be a step forward towards real justice.

Posada, confessed author of the midair sabotage to a Cuban airliner in 1976, escaped from a Venezuelan prison in 1985 while he was awaiting the sentence for that crime.(ACN)
