2011.02.09 - 11:31:47 / radiorebelde.Cuba to Open New Training Centers for Firefighters.HAVANA, CUBA.- The Firefighters Corps of Cuba will soon open new professional training centers in the central and eastern regions of the country, announced on Tuesday Nestor Martinez O’Farrill, head of Preparation and Training of this institution.

During a Seminar on Prevention, held in parallel with the National Meeting of the Cuban Firefighters Corps, Martinez told ACN that these new training schools —which will work together with the national training center in Havana— will open in Santa Clara, central province of Villa Clara, and in Bayamo, in the eastern province of Granma.

He added that school-fire stations will open in all the provinces of the nation to strengthen actions to train and improve the abilities of professional and volunteer firefighters.

Martinez said the initiatives are part of an effort to expand prevention strategies adapted to the characteristics of each territory.(ACN)
