2011.03.03 / radiorebelde. Vedado Hotel. Havana, Cuba. -  After half a century of existence, Vedado Hotel keeps taking the pulse of the capital city tourist nights, because of its privileged location that won the fame of “the best located.” 

Comfort, gastronomic variety and customized service are the regular standards of this 3 stars hotel, operated since 2004 by the Great Caribbean Corporation. 

Vedado Hotel offers basic accommodation and a wide range of services, including massage, sauna, pool, exchange houses, car rental, Internet browsing, tourist packages desk sales and a distinct emphasis in gastronomy. 

Commercial manager Iran Reyes assured: “The balance between quality and prices is one of the features that distinguish our facility. In fact, we closed last year with an occupation index of over 62 % and more than 75 000 tourist/days.” 

Although price rates fluctuate according to markets and travel agencies, the price of a double room in full high season is 80 CUC and a single room costs 50 CUC; both with breakfast included.   

Since its beginning, Vedado Hotel was framed in the segment of the university student body. With a potential clientele of Spanish-speakers, mainly from countries like Mexico, Spain, Costa Rica, Venezuela and Argentina, this hotel is an ideal site for events and circuits tourism.

Reyes explained: “As a rule, we host clients as part of “tours across the Island packages”, with an average stay of 3 days. However, our condition of city hotel hardly attracts national tourism, which prefers the beach resorts.” 

In addition to the excellent service, Vedado Hotel possesses a sound cultural tradition, availed by the great soirees organized for many years with the presence of the elite of Cuban art. 

The specialist of recreational and cultural activities, Eugenio Rosales, affirmed: “Nowadays, we have the art gallery, thematic nights at “El Cortijo” restaurant and daily shows of traditional music by small format bands at the Lobby Bar. In the meantime, we are working to recover the Cuban Dances School.”
