LANChile will suspend its weekly service from Santiago de Chile to Havana, as of May 7, Routes Online reported.
The Chilean carrier bought an estimated 3,600 passengers to Cuba during the past year. The route is dominated by COPA Airlines, which shuttled nearly 25,000 mostly Latin American passengers to Cuba via its Panama City hub.
Meanwhile, LANPeru, according to Routes Online, will begin Lima-Havana flights. The Peruvian subsidiary of LANChile didn’t provide a start date. El Salvador-based TACA International already operates three flights a week from Lima to Havana.
