By Enrique Ojito Linares. As Sancti Spiritus, in central Cuba, readies for the celebration of nearly half a millennium, local authorities confirmed June 4th festivities, a day boosting constructive actions and the announcement of cultural activities that people in the province will enjoy deeply.
On June 4th, the Municipal Assembly of the People’s Power will take place, said its president Yoel Gallardo Silva. The leader also announced the presence of a governmental delegation from Lagos de Moreno, Jalisco, Mexico.
Gallardo Silva explained that many construction sites will be put to an end and some other needing reparation, painting or rehabilitation will be given a boost.
The anniversary celebration organizers highlighted the main cultural gala to take place on June 4th, the concert honoring 85 years old Septeto Espirituano (Sancti Spiritus Septet) and the City Prize Ceremony on the Literature, Plastic Arts, Music and Photography categories.
Book and craftsmanship fairs and the Juan Berdalles Scientific Event colloquium sessions on Sancti Spiritus culture add to the festivities.
