June 29, 2011 in Sports. Cuban pitcher Gerardo Concepcion fled the Cuban baseball team that participates in a tournament in Holland.

Conception was rookie of the year in the last national series held in Cuba and many talent hunters have highlighted his qualities to reach major leagues.

Another pitcher, Chapman also left Cuba in the same tournament, Concepción had already said he wanted to follow Chapman's experience in the big leagues. Surely the Cuban will try to reach Miami and then form part of the Agencia Libre until he can be accepted by any  major league team.
