2011.07.01 - 14:10:13 / radiorebelde.icrt.cu. Cuban Spirit Takes up First Habanos Lounge in Egypt Havana, Cuba. - The unmistakable smell of cigar prevailed at the inauguration of the Habanos Embassy Cigars Lounge, the first one of its type opened in Cairo, Egypt.
The lounge, located at the Kempinski Nile Hotel, is reserved basically for a select group of diplomats and local and foreign businessmen and was designed to become an exclusive place for gathering and talk business.
Marked by the omnipresence of the cigars, showcases, humidors and other Cuban brands, it is a special place to learn and taste the top-quality and worldwide famous Cuban cigars, as the hotel’s general director, Fuat Koroglu said at the inauguration.
The Cuban ambassador to Egypt Otto Vaillant said in the ceremony that cigars are one of the distinguishing elements of the Cuban culture and noted that even though they are manufactured and sold in other countries of the region, Cuban cigars excel for their high quality.
Vaillant said the newly-opened lounge adds to the list of similar facilities in the Middle East where the Cuban product is promoted.
This is the first time a place like this is opened in Egypt, and in this first day one can feel the Cuban spirit in this site, Vaillant told guests among who were two Egyptian deputy ministers and high-ranking government officials, as well as other ambassadors, and diplomats, and important businessmen.
The inauguration was livened up by Cuban music played by Claroscuro, a group from the island.
