Havana, Aug 20 (Prensa Prensa) Teresa Hernandez Morejon, a member of the national secretariat of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC), said that Cuban women represent 66 percent of the workforce in Cuba.
The women are present in all sectors of the national economy and have a majority participation in the areas of health, education and science, Morejon Hernandez told the Cuban National Information Agency (AIN).
The new employment facilities that generate self-employment and the delivery of state-own land will increase women's contributions to the development of the country, she said, and acknowledged the support of political and mass
organizations like the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP), which promotes the incorporation of women into cooperatives.
More than four million women are grouped by the FMC, which on August 23 will celebrate its 51th anniversary.
