The Tambores de Bejucal will perform in Varadero

27 de Agosto 2011. Bejucal, (AIN). – The emblematic Tambores de Bejucal (Drums from Bejucal) will depart in the next few hours towards Varadero, where they will make a presentation next week end in its popular parties.
This folklore group, which was created almost fifty years ago, has won several recognitions, among them the Community Cultural Award and Memoria Viva Award given by the Juan Marinello Cultural Centre.
This artistic group has also made presentations almost all over Cuba, as well as in Mexico, Martinique and several European countries, where they conquered the favor of the public.
Robelio Pérez López, its founder and director, recently celebrated his 80 birth date at the Municipality Cultural House, where he indicated that the Tambores de Bejucal are divided this year end to take part in the Ceiba de Plata and Espina de Oro congas, during the famous Characgas of the city.
The group also has the cultural Project Tamborcitos de Bejucal (Small drums from Bejucal), in which children and young people take classes to take over in the future from the current group.
So far this season, the group has performed in several municipalities from the province of Mayabeque and Artemisa, in the parties in the capital city and in the recently finished carnivals in Matanzas.
