Paris, Sep 10 (Prensa Latina) The Cuban medicine VIDATOX is the only authentic product made of scorpion venom with anti-tumor, anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties, said Oniel Diaz, general director of the Virus and Bacteria Vaccines Department of the Cuban company Labiofam.

Diaz spoke Saturday at a conference in the French capital to promote this natural Cuban cancer medicine made from the venom of a scorpion endemic to Cuba.

Erroneous information about the medicine was circulating, and had to be answered, Diaz told Prensa Latina.

Other products involving scorpions are not authentic, and their composition and any healing properties attributed to them should be in question, he said.

Accompanied by Prof. Fabio de J. Linares, LABIOFAM Homeopathic Medical Products laboratory manager, Diaz led a marketing campaign for VIDATOX in Europe.

The first stage of the campaign covered the UK, Belgium and France, and was very positive, the Cuban official said.

VIDATOX was registered in March 2011 for international marketing and export.

In Europe, VIDATOX has been introduced in Albania, via which it is also available in Italy, where major demand has grown for this cancer medicine.

The marketing campaign will continue in Spain, Portugal, Germany, Denmark, Finland and Norway, Diaz said.
