Dissident Laura Pollan's health condition compromised

By Associated Press. October 8, 2011. HAVANA (AP) Associates of the founder of Cuba's Ladies in White dissident group say she has been hospitalized and is in serious but stable condition.Founder of Cuba's Ladies in White, Laura Pollan, hospitalized for acute respiratory problems.

Fellow dissident Bertha Soler says Laura Pollan is suffering from acute respiratory problems and is in intensive care. Soler says the 63-year-old Pollan was hospitalized Friday in Havana.

She said Saturday morning that Pollan's condition was "very, very grave."
