It celebrates the Day of Cuban cuisine, the Federation of Culinary Associations of the Republic of Cuba (Facrc) organize meetings of specialists and recognition activities throughout the country.

The president of the Facrc, Eddy Fernandez, said the constant improvement of these men and women, and the rescue of traditional dishes and national cuisine and cultural heritage and identity, are priorities of the organization.

This celebration was created to honor the Cuban delegation that on October 18, 1984, won a gold medal at the Culinary Olympics held in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.

The Culinary Olympics event are the highest technical level of its kind in the world, held every four years by the World Association of Cooks Societies (AMSC). (Xinhua)
