Chinese Hospital Ship Arrives in Havana, Cuba

After 36 days of crossing the imposing ship arrived today Peace Ark hospital, Naval Force of the People's Liberation Army of China.
The modern ship-one of its kind in the Asian giant arrived in Cuba, the first country that will take a trip to Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago and Costa Rica.
In the Greater Antilles are planned exchange of scientific experience with the military and civilian medical personnel, especially in the field of traditional medicine.
Upon arrival at the cruise dock in Havana, his commander, Captain, Dapeng Yu was welcomed by Cuban admiral, Luis Gonzalez, director of the Military Academy Granma.
Also present were Chinese Vice Admiral His Shiliang, deputy commander of the Naval Force of the People's Liberation Army of China, who arrived here in the early morning air and the ambassador of that nation in the island, Liu yugin.
At the headquarters of Foreign Affairs of the Revolutionary Armed Forces, Chinese officials talked with Admiral Carlos Alfonso Duque, head of the Revolutionary Navy of Cuba.
As part of the program, also talked to the mayors house, with Jose Manuel Puente, vice president of the Assembly of Popular Power in Havana, who highlighted the ties of friendship with the Chinese people.
Peace Ark has among its missions, to promote fraternal ties with Caribbean countries and improve the capacity of the Chinese naval forces in the performance of multiple tasks.
The ship, which caught the attention of hundreds of Havana, has a length of 178 meters, a breadth of 24 meters, depth of 8.5 meters and a displacement 14 000 300 tonnes with a maximum speed of 20 knots.
It has a crew consisting of 245 officers, 19 NCOs, 151 corporals and sailors, and of the 415 members in total, 107 of them provide health services.
Peace Ark, which will end his visit on 26 October this year, is equipped with 300 beds, two thousand 414 and 217 equipments medical devices, eight surgical operating rooms, two of them for radioactive.
Other amenities include dentistry and other specialties, and a heliport.
