Outstanding research in Villa Clara meats

The National Institute for Research in Tropical Viandas (INIVIT) of Villa Clara was honored with awards for his contribution to agriculture in the country. Scientists from several nations congratulated the school for their excellent work.

The INIVIT has produced varieties with high yield potential, suitable for mitigating the effects of climate change and more resistant to pests and diseases, said Dr. Sergio Rodriguez Sciences Morales, director of the institution.

They have also obtained similar results in the case of taro island and Creole, as well as cassava, sweet potatoes and yams, these achievements have been recognized internationally, said Dr. Rodriguez Morales.
The creation of varieties of meats, low bearing is one of the newest endeavors of the Institute, as these species have a high yield potential and are resistant to pests, diseases and high winds.
