Every year Cuba draws a new target in the tourism industry. The coming of 2012 will approach the figure of 3 million tourists.

Manuel Marrero, Cuban Minister of Tourism said Tuesday that rely on close 2011 with about 2.7 million visitors, 200 000 more than in 2010, while the purpose for coming is to reach 2 million 900 thousand vacationers.

By participating in the ceremony for the Canada Day at the International Fair of Havana (FIHAV 2011), the owner said the Cuban tourism grew last September by 7.9 percent over the same period last year, when the island was the two millionth visitor of 2011, with 32 days in advance of 2010.

He explained that Canada is the first market issuer of tourists and noted that currently are strong relations between that country and tour operators companies in the entertainment industry in Cuba, according to information published by Granma newspaper.

On the second day of FIHAV 2011, the mariachis were also heard in the EXPOCUBA Fairgrounds, at the opening of the Mexico pavilion, meeting attended by Rodrigo Malmierca, Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, and the first deputy minister of the Orlando Hernandez portfolio.

Hernandez said that Mexico and Cuba eighth largest trading partner and the third in Latin America, an extensive program of cooperation with the Cuban government priority sectors of economic activity in Cuba, and in the fields of education, culture and sport.

A 29 edition of FIHAV attended by over 50 Mexican companies with the aim of strengthening commercial ties between both nations, said the ambassador of the neighboring country in Havana, Gabriel Jiménez Remus.

Estrella Madrigal, president of the Chamber of Commerce of Cuba, highlighted the presence at the meeting of Ivonne Ortega, governor of Yucatan state, represented in the meeting for more than 30 signatures.
