Camagüey, Cuba, Nov 26 (Prensa Latina) With the introduction of the first samples in session today contest the fourth edition of International Video Art Festival in Camagüey, a promoter of gender seat on the island and the world.
Sponsored by the Center for the Arts at this Cuban city, attending the event creators, critics and scholars of this form of contemporary visual construction of Cuba and 28 countries in Latin America, Europe, Asia and Africa.
Cuba, Spain, United States, Colombia, Argentina and Brazil are among the countries with the largest presence in the competition, which this year features more than one hundred works, with superior quality, as stated by the president of the Festival, Jorge Luis Santana .
Samples of the artists in competition contain different realizations of the amenities on the video art, video installation, video and video dance performance, the latter with a strong representation at the Festival, to terminate on 29.
Among the different cultural issues are addressed by the video makers concerns the traditional sociological, anthropological, artistic and intimate.
Today began the days of discussions on issues concerning the creation, new practices and technologies, market realities and complexities of video art and movement, among others.
Also be opened this day the project "The next resistance", a large exhibition on contemporary audiovisual curatorial work from international festivals and events with which this event exchanged Cuban, born in Camaguey in 2008 and opened the day before.
Some of them are the Region O / The Latino Video Art Festival of New York, Oslo Screem Festival, danube VIDEO ART festival, and Displays LiminalB ALTAREGO International Video Art.
This exhibition also draws on the file of the event with nearly fifty works and artists from around the world.
