Camagüey is attached to the technological advances in health

The 13 municipalities of the province of Camagüey already have a laboratory equipped with a UltramicronalíticoSystem. The last municipality to receive this technology made on the island was Najasa.
Dr. José Luis Pérez Lugo, director of the Provincial Public Health Sector, said it's a diagnostic computer technology which allows to obtain very accurate results of different pathologies.
"It allows tests that previously were only made in the Provincial Laboratory of Genetics, specifically for pregnant women, such as alpha fetoprotein," Perez said Lugo.
The executive added that the modern equipment also offer the possibility of screening for congenital hypothyroidism, hepatitis, prostate cancer and serological tests for HIV-AIDS.
The installation of laboratories Ultramicronalítico system has been a simultaneous process in the country, and inthe specific case of Camagüey this process flowed at a good pace from the start.
