On January 18 was formed in Havana Cuban Standards Committee Accounting for Finance and Prices Minister Lina Pedraza. The main objective is to make accounting a weapon to correctly manage the Cuban economy in this period of change.
During the accreditation ceremony of the members of that body for the period 2011-2014, was ratified as president Miguel Alejandro Gil Fernandez, deputy of the body.
Also highlight among its members, Lazaro Jorge Torres Emerio Sanabria, auditor of the Central Bank of Cuba, and Joaquin Infante Ugarte, National Accounting Award 2007.
Speaking at the event, Lina Pedraza said the Cuban Committee of Accounting Standards is a significant link in the performance of the state function with respect to the accounting issues.
In this regard, we also confirmed that is the political will and a need for the country to solve accounting problems, while the decision to incorporate exemplified as relevant information from government, contained in the financial statements of the entities.
Referring to the challenges of this group called the program important to address implementation of the Guidelines for Economic and Social Policy of the Communist Party of Cuba.
The Minister of Finance and Prices identified as another challenge the need to update the programs of development and completion of the Financial Reporting Standards Cuban, especially the general elements, without neglecting the specificities of the Governmental Accounting.
In this effort, we can not neglect the process of harmonizing our standards with international standards and do not forget the particularities of the Cuban economy, he said.
The minister also referred to the committee's role in the formation of accounting professionals, and in the process of updating the internal control systems of the entities.
The event, held at the headquarters of the National Association of Economists and Accountants of Cuba (ANEC), were also Raquel Marquez and Maria Victoria Salabarría Bernac, senior vice president and member of its National Executive Council, respectively, and Gil Fernandez.
