Lizt Alfonso Ballet harvest successes in Africa

Lizt Alfonso Ballet was worthy of recognition during the tour of South Africa to commemorate the centenary of the African National Congress (ANC).
In the capital of South Africa, Moferefere Lekorotsoana, a member of the Committee for the celebrations, gave encouragement to each member of the company and said it symbolizes the arrival of the 100 years and the beginning of another anniversary of an organization committed to building a better future for his people.
Alfonso, director, dancer and choreographer of that institution formed solely by women, appreciated the recognition.
He reiterated his appreciation for the many expressions of kindness and hospitality received in South Africa, where he-said-hope to return soon to continue the cultural exchange between both countries and peoples.
The Caribbean group exhibited his art in Cape Town from 10 to 12 this month, and in Johannesburg from 17 to 19, with a show that was an authentic expression of the fusion of Spanish and African influences in Cuban culture.
Prior to the unique role at the State Theatre, Pretoria, entitled Celebrating the Spirit of Liberty, which concluded the tour, host personalities highlighted the cooperation of the Island with Africa, in sectors such as health (especially in the fight malarial) , education and construction, among others.
Also evoked the Cuban contribution to the ignominious end of the racist system of apartheid, and cultural ties that bind the Caribbean island with the continent.
By way of farewell, the cast held a meeting with members of the embassy of the Insula in the African country, attended the tour sponsors.
Angel Villa, Cuba's ambassador to Pretoria, recognized the excellence and effort manifested in the proceedings, as part of the cultural program for the anniversary, and in which she emphasized raised high the name of the island and showed the best of his art.
