Added five film productions that Cuba will participate in the XIX Latino Film Festival 2012 San Diego, California. Among these is the film Habanastation (2011) and the animated short Abdala.

In the U.S. annual event, the next 8 to 18, will be screened also feature ticket to paradise, Gerardo Chijona, 2012 Goya Award nominee, and John of the dead, Alejandro Brugues, winner at the recent Festival XXXII Fantastic Film Porto, Fantasporto, Portugal.

The ratio of the Caribbean island tapes it up to the event as well, The path of the gulls, Cuban-Brazilian co-production (which features the voice of the singer Omara Portuondo) plus Abdala, the return of the lords of Xibalba, of Adrian Lopez Morin.

The path of the gulls, animated 10 minutes, directed by Alexander Rodriguez, Barbaro Joel Ortiz, Sergio Daniel Herthel Glenes and was awarded a mention in 2011, in issue 20 of Divercine, International Film Festival for Children and Youth.

Abdala, the return of the lords of Xibalba (2012) is a production of the encourages studies in Holguin, which is an approach to the work of Cuban National Hero Jose Marti.

This first chapter of a series of 15, is a reinterpretation of the original text of the dramatic poem Abdala, published on January 23, 1869, in the newspaper La Patria Libre, and it was epic and fantasy intertwine.

About 160 Latin American films will be screened during the event, which is expected to attend over 10 thousand American viewers.

Argentina, with the largest presence in this year's event, and Mexico are the main competitors for Latin America
