It has been confirmed the visit to Cuba President of the Confederation of Professional Baseball in the Caribbean, Juan Francisco Puello, who will be in the capital agreeing to return the island to the Caribbean Series.

The digital newspaper Jit, organ of the Institute, noted that "the announced visit" the Dominican Puello "has fans on edge" of baseball on the island because "the executive (Confederation) have hinted the possibility of Cuba participate in the upcoming edition of the Series ", which will host Mexico in 2013.

"The issue gets it done, so it represents the return of Cuban players to the wheel that experts describe as moribund and reactionary," said Jit, stressing that "there are many questions generated by the proposal, permeated of wrongs."

Cuba participated in the Series since its inception in 1949 until 1960, and won seven editions. The tournament was discontinued in 1961, when Cuba abolished professional sports, and the island did not return after the break in 1969.

"Would it be worth stopping every February for 15 days or more the main pastime of the Cubans? Would the executives of that Confederation to change their calendar?, Questioned the website, saying that the event date coincides with the local championship (November to May).

"For a society that has baseball as its national sport, obviously people would be interested in your enjoyment of this show, but ... sociopolitical and economic conditions will be feasible to the organizers of the fight?" Said Jit.

Puello said in February during the series held in the Dominican Republic, would travel to the island in mid-March.
