Musicology Colloquium Prize and 2012 in Cuba

During the days between 19 and 23 March will be held on the island of Musicology Colloquium Prize and 2012. This event created by the Casa de las Americas about 70 participating artists from 13 nations.
In its 13th edition, the event will feature personalities like Argentina Bernanrdo Illari, the Mexican American L. Alexander Madrid, Marita Fornaro Uruguay, Brazil's Angela Luhning, Italian Enrico Fubini Lengwinat Katrin and Venezuela.
To date there have been some 15 works by six countries who will compete in musical genres such as historiography, interpretation and critical explanation of the creation of music and traditional folk music.
A new feature this year will present an editorial project with the complete works of the late Cuban musicologist Argeliers Leon (1918-1991), the main promoter of the prize.
Institute in 1979 to encourage scientific research, knowledge and diffusion of musical culture of Latin America and the Caribbean, from its inception the competition has awarded more than 200 works.
