Exhibition dedicated to Rita Longa in Bayamo

On Sunday March 25 in Bayamo was opened an exhibition of sculptures dedicated to the centenary of the birth of the artist Rita Longa, being one of ls is activdad V National Symposium of Environmental Sculpture that bears his name.
Comprised of 17 pieces of medium format modeled in marble, aluminum, bronze, steel, wood, clay and fabric, the group exhibition was opened last night at the Center for Art and Design in the province of Granma.
At the exhibition, which includes the iconic work "Ballet" by Rita Longa, it is discovered the talents of nine artists participating in the Symposium, including the national arts awards Osneldo Garcia and Jose Villa Soberon.
Until next April 14, residents and visitors to the city of Bayamo, may delight the eye and nourish the spirit to admire the exhibition, which converge in mixed media with a high aesthetic level.
In the words of the AIN, Osneldo Garcia highlighted the maturity and consolidation achieved by the event, which stands as a reference meeting for the demonstration farmers in Cuba.
He revealed his satisfaction with the quality of the 58 pieces bequeathed in previous editions, which are completed in Granma an important heritage collection of contemporary sculptures.
