Alicia Alonso prepares choreography in Las Tunas

The XXIII International Ballet Festival of Havana, dated October and November ahead Alicia Alonso expects a brand new choreography inspired by a poem by Virgilio Piñera is preparing lime in Las Tunas

The event program will have space for more contemporary lines, said the director of the Ballet Nacional de Cuba, adding that have already responded positively to invitations, artists from China, Russia, France, Germany and a modern dance company in the United States.
Peter Simon, director of the National Museum of Dance, said the Festival will have about five venues in Havana and managed the possibility of making presentations in other parts of the country, including Las Tunas.
In this city of eastern Cuba, Vladimir Ilich Lenin University gave Alonso the 30 anniversary commemorative stamp of Higher Education in Las Tunas, in recognition of the contributions of the Founder of the National Ballet School, training of new generations .
Upon receipt of the distinction, Alonso expressed praise for the general public and the host and displays of affection have made you feel proud of being Cuban.
The prima ballerina visit Las Tunas since last Monday with her company, which act to the public this weekend.
