Cuban athletes participating in the 2012 Olympic Games have undergone at least one anti-doping test and will undergo more prior to leaving for London, authorities said on Friday.
"All athletes who are qualified for the Games have been tested once or twice and will undergo one or two more," said Jorge Pavel Pino, the director of the Cuban Institute for Sports Medicine, quoted by Radio Habana Cuba.
Pino added that the athletes submitted urine samples but, in accordance with World Anti-Doping Agency ( WADA) rules, also blood samples.
Cuba won a total of 24 medals at the 2008 Games in Beijing and is set to send around 100 athletes, from 14 disciplines, to the English capital later this month.
