Olympic champion and world record in the 110 meter hurdles Dayron Robles will head the group of Cuban athletes that will take part in the phase of the Diamond League of New York, on June 9.
Besides Robles, the event will be attended by Orlando Ortega, who just record the third best time of the year in the same modality with 13,09, the triple jumpers Yargeris Savigne and Dailenys Alcántara, and the pole vaulter Yarisley Silva, among others.
The Cuban Athletics Federation announced today that after an analysis of the preparation for the London Olympics, it was decided not to take part in the competitions of Eugene and Oregon on Saturday.
Cuba lays its greatest hopes in London-2012 in athletics (until now with 46 classified) and also in boxing (eight fighters with tickets already to the British capital).
