Cuban press is commemorating the 86th birthday of the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, publishing observations from local and foreign personalities.
Reports from his home in Biran, over 800 kilometers away from Havana, where Fidel Castro was born on August 13, 1926, were also published.
Meanwhile, Granma newspaper reported some excerpts from comments about the revolutionary leader, like those of Prima Ballerina Assoluta Alicia Alonso, who said she used to get nervous every time she saw him.
Cuban journalist Max Lesnik, based in the United States, remembered him as an extremely gracious man, because he never forgets anyone who has done him a favor.
As part of his birthday celebrations today, a collective exhibition on Fidel Castro will open today at the Jose Marti Memorial, at Revolution Square, in Havana.
"Con todos los sentidos" (With All the Senses) is the name of the exhibition as a tribute to Fidel Castro that comprises 13 photos by renowned photojournalists, including Korda, Raul Corrales, Osvaldo Salas, and Liborio Noval, one of which is from his childhood and the rest taken with different public figures.
