Artists from Cuba, Argentina and Peru were praised by critics at the 33 Rossini Opera Festival (ROF) taking place from August 10 to 23 in Pesaro, northeastern Italy.

In this event, one of the most important lyric venues in the world , Peruvian tenor Juan Diego Flórez, leading artist of Matilde di Shabranes, was praised by Italian media specialists.

La Republica, the most widely read daily in Italy, exulted his talent and published that Florez is of unequalled bravery and physical grace, a true divo of the bel canto.

Also daily Il Manifesto refers to him as "a stainless voice that upholds by itself all the opera, thanks to his frequent incursions in the acute tones and a superb dramatic energy.

La Sicilia newspaper describes Flórez's acting as impecable, confirming his talent as Rossinian singer and mastering with absolutely natural excellency the difficult notes componed by the Pesaro swan.

Italian composer Rossini (1792-1868) was specially known for his operas, above all his comedies, but with numerous and decisive contributions to the classic gender, according to the critics.

About Cuban soprano María Adelaida, in the leading role of Mister Bruschino, Ansa news agency described her career as a meteoric one.

She is the great discovery of the 33rd edition of the festival, says the Ansa digital edition.

Aleida is not considered a purely Rossinian interpreter, despite having sung for over one year three of the Rossini operas (besides the Trip and Bruschino, the rare Aureliano in Palmira in the refined Valley of Itria of Martina Franca Festival), says Ansa.

As part of the Cuban soprano's projects, she said she would interpret next October the role of Elvira in I puritani of Bellini (1801-1835), concert for which she has many expectations.

Critics of the Rossini Opera Festival also praised Argentine tenor Francisco Brito, who according to Italian media, has an upstroke career in Europe.

In 2014, the Argentine interpreter will sing Almaviva in the Barber of Seviolle and Giannetto in Rossini's La Gazza Ladra.
