Tourist Arrivals to Cuba Increased in 2012

The arrival of foreign visitors to Cuba grew in the first seven months of 2012, by 5.4 percent, reported the National Bureau of Statistics and Information (ONEI).
The agency said the island reached one million 842 thousand 202 visitors, 95 thousand 093 more than the same period last year, which shows the progress of one of the key sectors of the Cuban economy.
In July, there were over 215 thousand 850 foreign tourists, three percent more in the year on year comparison.
Cuba was visited in 2011 by more than 2.5 million tourists from countries like Canada, the UK and Spain.
