Brazilian, Cuban Companies to Meet

Brazilian textile and shoe companies, and its Cuban peer will hold a business round in this capital on Friday, to raise bilateral trade, Cuba''s Chamber of Commerce (CCC) stated.
The meeting, in which eight companies from the South American country will participate, is organized by that entity and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil).
CCC and Apex-Brasil presidents, Estrella Madrigal and Mauricio Borges, respectively, will attend the opening ceremony of the forum.
Hipolito Gaspar, Director of Apex-Brasil Office in Havana, will address the opening ceremony, organizers confirmed.
The objective of Apex-Brasil is to promote exports of Brazilian products and services, contribute to the internationalization of companies in that nation, and attract direct foreign investment.
Brazil is one of Cuba's main economic partners worldwide. The two countries have expressed the will to broaden ties on the basis of a sustainable cooperation, reciprocity principles, and mutual benefit.
This South American nation is working with Cuba to extend the port of Mariel, west of Havana, the development of soybean and corn crop, and other projects in the island.
