Havana will host the 4th International Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Conference September 18-21 with the attendance of renowned international experts.
The forum, which will take place at the city’s Conventions Center, is dedicated to what is known as bio-nanotechnology and its health applications, according to the event’s organizing committee.
Experts wil discuss presentations and will hold panels on the major trends and challenges related to the subjects included in the agenda, which will also look at the environment, energy, among others. The event will serve to promote international dialog among nanoscience professionals and is expected to contribute elements to design a national strategy in the field of nanoscience.
According to the most recent definitions, Nanoscience is the study of atoms, molecules, and objects whose size is on the nanometer scale ( 1 - 100 nanometers ). For comparison, a human hair is about 100,000 nanometers thick.
The word nanoscience itself is a combination of nano, from the Greek “nanos” (or Latin “nanus”), meaning “Dwarf”, and the word "Science."
