Cuban Bruzon Draws Again in Poikovsky, Russia

Cuban GM Lazaro Bruzon drew for the third time in the fourth round of the chess tournament held in Poikovsky, Russia while the local idol Dmitry Jakovenko continues with an excellent performance and accumulates 3.5 points.
Bruzon played with the black pieces versus the Chinese Yue Wang and they agreed to draw in 58 moves of a King´s Indian Defense in a tower and two pawns ending apiece, reads the tournament’s web site.
Bruzon , the current Cuban runner-up, totalizes 1.5 points due to other two draws and a loss in the second round also with black pieces facing Russian Sergei Rublevsky.
Jakovenko leads the event with three wins and a draw in four rounds. The last win was in only 32 moves of a Queen´s Pawn Opening against U:S. Alexander Onishuk.
Jakovenko won this tournament in 2007.
In other matches Moldavian Victor Bologan defeated Ukranian Ruslan Ponomariov and British Nigel Short and Rublevsky agreed to draw with Russian Alexander Motylev and Polish Radoslaw Wojtaszek, respectively.
Now the standings show Jakovenko with 3.5 points, Bologan, Ponomariov. Rublevsky, Short, Motylev and Wojtaszek.accumulate 2 points and Onischuk ,Wang and Bruzon are in the bottom of the table with 1.5 points.
The fifth round will be tomorrow with the matches Bruzón vs Bologan, Motylev vs Jakovenko, Ponomariov vs Short, Onischuk vs Rublevsky and Wojtaszek vs Wang.
