Renowned Cuban Specialist Mario Granda Died in Havana

The Cuban sports movement regretted the death from a heart attack, on Thursday evening, of Doctor Mario Granda Fraga, at the age of 57.
Granda Fraga was considered one of the most prestigious experts in the sports sector. He headed the Sports Medicine Institute and the Havana Anti-doping Lab.
The doctor became a very high-level expert in the doping field and joined the Pan-American Sports Organization Anti-doping Commission.
Granda Fraga, a member of the Cuban Communist Party, was the head of the medical and anti-doping Commission of the Cuban Olympic Committee and Secretary of the Medical Commission of the Central American and Caribbean Sports Organization (ODECABE).
He was granted numerous distinctions and decorations and was an active defender of the values of Cuban sports.
Fraga’s mortal remains will be cremated following the decision of his relatives.
