Cuba and El Salvador to Increase Ties

The governments of Cuba and El Salvador agreed during the 2nd Meeting of the Inter-ministerial Political Consultation Mechanism held in this capital that they are willing to boost bilateral ties.
According to a note from the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Salvadoran Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Integration and Economic Development Carlos Castaneda, and his host peer Rogelio Sierra led the meeting held yesterday.
The parties reviewed the political, economic, trade and cooperation ties, and expressed their determination to promote them, say the text posted on the www.cubaminrex.cu website.
Addressing the inter-ministerial meeting, Castaneda stressed the importance of the forum, because it is a permanent dialogue mechanism.
On the other hand, Sierra thanked El Salvador for its support in the Cuban struggle against the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States for more than 50 years.
After the exchange, Havana and San Salvador signed an agreement on air transport, to provide regular flights between the two countries.
