Cuba will have its first international referee for weightlifting, now that Inalvis Ramirez has received that title, announced Rafael Pacho, national commissioner of the discipline.

In statements to the National Information Agency, Pacho said that Ramirez is the first woman fom Cuba to receive that high level recognition from the International Weightlifting Federation.

Ramirez, a licensed sports practitioner in the Havana municipality of Guanabacoa, is now an International Referee, Category Two, a deserved recognition for her excellent work performed since 2001, said the federation.

Highlighted among the main events where she has performed as a referee, are the Manuel Suarez International Tournaments in Memoriam, the Games of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America, the Cuban Championships and several tournaments within Cuba.
