UNESCO Assistant Director-General to Visit Cuba

UNESCO Assistant Director-General Qian Tang will visit Cuba, February 3 through 5, to participate in the international "Pedagogy 2013" conference, the island's Ministry of Foreign Affairs is reporting.
According to the website www.cubaminrex.cu, the official from the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization will arrive in Havana, invited by the Education Minister Ena Elsa Velazquez.
Tang will visit educational institutions, talk with authorities of the sector, and give a master lecture in the framework of Pedagogy 2013, entitled "Youth and skills: putting education to work," he said.
The UNESCO Assistant Director-General visited Havana last year, where he attended the "University 2012" forum.
In late 2012, UNESCO Director General Irina Bokova carried out an official visit to Cuba, which included a meeting with President Raul Castro.
Pedagogia 2013 will take place at Havana's International Conference Center from February 4 to 8. Delegates from about 30 countries are expected to attend the event.
