Cuba won the bronze medal in the North, Central American and Caribbean (NORCECA) Men’s Volleyball Tournament, held in the Canadian city of Langley, where the United States won the title.

The Cuban squad beat Puerto Rico 3-2 (27-29, 25-27, 25-20, 27-25 and 15-12) with outstanding performance by Rolando Cepeda, who accumulated 16 points, followed by David Fiel (16), Abraham Alfonso (13), Yordan Bisset (12) and Danger Quintana (10).
 
According to NORCECA website, the top scorer of the match was Puerto Rican Ezequiel Cruz with 23 units, who was supported by Mannix Roman (17), Juan Vázquez (12) and the Captain Enrique Escalante (12).
 
Rodolfo Sanchez,  the new coach of Cuba, showed joy at this result with a team that is making adjustments after several losses and just getting a win in the 2013 World League, the online edition of the sports publication Jit reported.
 
Sanchez explained they had a good grouping blocking strategy and the setter distributed the game better. He also referred to the reaction of the boys, some of whom competed in the last world junior championship. "We are proud to finish the tournament with this medal."
 
On the other hand, the United States defeated 3-0 (25-23, 25-20, 25-14) Canada in the final , and through this performance they assured their presence in the Grand Champions Cup to be held next November in Nagoya and Tokyo, Japan.
 
On the other match of the day, Mexico finished in fifth place in the contest by winning 3-0 (25-23, 25-22, 26-24) to the Dominican Republic.
