The Universidad de Oriente Biotechnology Master's program today received the Ibero-American Quality Award for Post-Graduate and Doctoral Programs, institutional sources said today.
About 110 professionals from other Cuban provinces, Ecuador and Congo have graduated from this program, which amounts seven editions so far.
In 2012, the university's Master's program in Communitarian Cultural Development was also awarded by the Ibero-American University Association for Postgraduates (AUIP), a non-governmental organization which groups 170 higher education institutions from Spain, Portugal, Latin America and the Caribbean.
The Universidad de Oriente was the second one founded in Cuba 67 years ago and has been fundamental in the development of the higher education in Cuba over the last decades.
