After its successful participation in the previous International Book Fair in Cuba, Arabia Saudita is preparing to participate by the second time in this year's 23rd edition of the most important literary event of the island.
At the moment, the Arab country plans to diversify its contents; hence, along with books it will present two models of the mosques in Medina and Mecca, there will be tattoo making for those females who wish it, since in that culture is a symbol of embellishment.

In statements to the newspaper Granma, the Ambassador of that country in Cuba, Sabed H. Al-Jomae, reminded that the main goal of their participation in the Fair is the transmission of culture.

In order to achieve this goal,ten book for children have been translated, so as other four titles of that literature. "Last year a great participation of children was appreciated and we want them to find joy in this event", he remarked.

Among the attractions of this year's Saudi stand, the Arabic calligraphy, samples of troubadours' songs, and free pictures for children who wish to dress in traditional Arab robes stand out.

Dedicated to Ecuador and its culture, the XXIII International Book Fair, from February 13th to March 9th, will include more than 700 titles, out of them 32 from authors of that South-American nation which confirmed the presence of President Rafael Correa.

The Ecuadorian mandatory, who will launch his book De Banana Republic a la no República (From Banana Republic to non-Republic), will travel to Havana together with several ministries and 36 acknowledged writers and intellectuals.

About 160 personalities have confirmed their presence in this book celebration, out of them, 120 writers and 138 exhibitors have contracted out two thousand 622 square meters in the main headquarters of the Fortaleza San Carlos de La Cabaña (Fort of Saint Charles), at the entrance of Havana harbor.

Furthermore, the vice president of the Cuban Book Institute Juan Rodríguez explained that 16 texts belonging to Nersys Felipe's and Rolando Rodríguez's biographies, National Awards for Literature and Social Sciences; respectively, to whom this editon of the island's most important cultural event is dedicated, will be printed.

Regarding this year's agenda, the celebration for the first time of a symposium on anthropology and archeology with the presence of Ecuadorian, Cuban, and Mexican specialists stands out.
