Demian Bichir and family visit Cuba

The Bichir family is one of the most popular in the world of art in Mexico. One of its members, Demian, who was nominated for an Oscar, is in Cuba along with other family members presenting the cycle The Bichir in Havana.
The selected films summarize the history of the last decades of Mexican cinema, having as a goal the performances of several members of the family. The event organized by the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (ICAIC) is projecting the movies in Charles Chaplin cinema until tomorrow September 24.
The show includes films from 1990 to 2011, among which are The Alley of Miracles (El callejón de los Milagros), Siqueiros mural (El mural de Siqueiros), A Sweet Scent of Death (Un dulce olor a muerte), To die (Hasta morir) and Chronicle breakfast (Crónica de un desayuno). Projections can also enjoy performances from other Mexican actors as Diego Luna and Salma Hayek.
Demian Bichir in Cuba is known for his work in A Better Life, tape for which he was nominated for an Oscar in 2012 as Best Actor, as well as The Bridge series. In 2008, he played Fidel Castro in the tapes Che, el argentino and Che: Guerrilla, directed by Steven Soderbergh and starring Benicio del Toro in the role of Ernesto Guevara.
Demian reported himself currently immersed in the postproduction of his first production as director. "I hope the film will be ready soon so that all Cubans can see it on the big screen" said the actor, who confessed their enthusiasm to participate in the International Festival of New Latin American Cinema.
"The film works as a sort of constant exploration, the search for love and how a child becomes a man in this process. It is a story of redemption told between the United States and Mexico, where chance plays a very important role. The cast is composed by many good friends among them Arcelia Ramírez, Juan Carlos Colombo, Julio Bracho, Ana Claudia Talancón, Ludwik palette, Eva Longoria, American Jason Patric and Cuban Jorge Perugorría, who plays the role of a Mexican and on top of, my father. He's a monster that Perugorría" he said.
The Bichir family is recognized not only from the success inside their country, has also approved by the toughest critics and fans of the action on its development both in the tables and in the set.
With Bichir in Havana one new chapter opens in cultural exchange between Mexico and Cuba. Demian and Odyiseo, with his father Alejandro, said that art, especially cinema, strengthen the historically close relations between the two countries, and see in this a step to take the Island’s filmography to their home.
