Opened dance competition dedicated to Fernando Alonso

From October 1 to 5 the Eleventh Edition of Choreography and interpretation DanzanDos-2014 Contest, is going to be celebrated in Matanzas, this year dedicated to the maestro Fernando Alonso (1914-2013), an outstanding dancer, teacher, director and choreographer dance companies.
Fernando Alonso, founder of the National Ballet of Cuba (BNC) and Ballet of Camagüey deserves all the honors that are granted to him in this event. In life he received numerous awards and national and foreign distinctions, along with other highlights of his life, will be the theme of the conference "Fernando Alonso in his centenary, a necessary tribute," which will give Miguel Cabrera, historian BNC.
Lilian Padrón, director of the group Spiral Dance and organizer of the event, said the movie theater Velasco will be the setting for the event. In addition the event will also recognize the teachers, dancers and choreographers Rosario Cardenas and Silvina Fabars, National Dance Awards 2013 and 2014, in that order.
"They are scheduled 29 works in competition and include two major international figures of the dance, Americans Kristan Gajdica and Suki John, who taught master classes" expanded.
Spaces for dialogue, debates, galas and workshops complete the agenda of this year, that will deliver three prizes by a professional jury and the popularity award by public vote, Padrón said.
