The expected battle between the Cuban Rancés Barthelemy and Argentine Fernando Saucedo ended with victory for the wide world lightweight champion, who with this win reaffirms its title awarded by the International Boxing Federation (IBF).
This victory not only marked the first defense of his belt, but also improved his unbeaten march to 21-0, with 12 wins by knockout, after the three judges give scores of 120-108 in his favor at the end of the fight scheduled with 12 rounds.
Cuban, 28 years old, controlled actions in the ring from the first episode, showing a better technique and using the speed and power of his straight right. He hardly ever failed punishing the Argentine.
Saucedo, 32, who saw his numbers fall to 52-6-3, with 8 knockouts, has always been unable to overcome the work of Cuban champion and although showed strength, momentum was insufficient to choose to triumph.
