According to authorities, gates "are passive (non-intrusive), which allow control of persons, baggage and cargo, as well as vehicles and other means of transport, to detect the presence of nuclear or radioactive material."
The equipment was manufactured in Russia, thanks to a grant from the International Atomic Energy Organization, "in order to raise the efficiency and effectiveness of control measures in the fight against terrorism."
