From October 19 to 26 is being held in Havana the German Theatre Week for the ninth time in order to facilitate a real exchange between artistic production and criticism of both nations.
 
In past editions have participated German and international figures in contemporary theater scene as Erika Fischer-Lichte, Fritz Kater, Thomas Ostermeier, Rene Pollesch, and Dea Loher.

This year the German Theatre Week will include a conference of the relevant and critical playwright Hans-Thies Lehmann, the creator of the concept of postdramatic theater that in the late 90s took a real turn to the theatrical thinking and ways of conceiving the scene and links reception worldwide. Visit Cuba for the first time after a year of being translated into Spanish his famous book of the same name and which offer a workshop-conference on Theoretical Criteria Cultural Center.

Besides the Workshop Theatre Documentary that will teach young playwright Sarah Israel, who worked for several years at the Stuttgart Theatre Schauspiel, and panels on the Ludwig Foundation, which placed in play the topics "The Cuban production is included -alemana "and" Whither the theater? ".

Among the works that will be opening scene is found Bad taste, by Cuban filmmakers, The path of the ants and Idomeneo, the latter two by German directors. As replacements are again Words and bodies and almost mythical Mission.
