The Cuban poet Carlos Pintado receives prize for poetry in Miami

The Cuban poet Carlos Pintado has won the Peace Prize for Poetry 2014, organized by The National Poetry Series and the Center for Literature and Theatre at Miami Dade College. The book awarded is titled Nine Coins and will be published in autumn 2015.
The award was created in honor of the writer Octavio Paz, Miguel de Cervantes Prize for Literature Nobel Prize in 1981 and 1990.
Carlos Pintado has a degree in English Language and Literature. He emigrated to America in the early nineties. It has a large repertoire of known works; poems, stories, and his articles have been translated into English, German, Turkish, Portuguese, Italian and French, and have appeared in various anthologies and magazines.
