Cuban doctors that are working on internationalist missions are supported by the United States to abandon the program of collaboration and traveling to the North American country. Every year the number of these professionals who drop mainly in Latin America increases.
The last known case was Cuban doctors Yoan Jimenez and Frank Alberto Mesa, who on March 13 arrived in Brazil as part of the More Doctors program, and earlier this month left their workplaces in Jardim Olímpico and Novo Delfino of city of Montes Claros, in Minas Gerais.
Both were absent from their jobs without leaving tracks on November 7. Upon completion of 48 hours of absence, Cuban professionals were excluded from the health care program. For the authorities, Montes Claros Prefecture announced their escape last November 12.
It is known, through information released by both in their Facebook pages that they went to Miami, the city they had intended to travel the last time they were seen in the capital of Belo Horizonte.
Jimenez and Mesa were part of a team of 26 professionals working in More Doctors program in Montes Claros, of which 16 are Cuban. Last June a Cuban professional, who worked in the town of Catuti, left the mission to travel to the US too.
