Cuban doctor infected with Ebola could be discharged in Geneva

The Cuban doctor Felix Baez, who contracted Ebola in Sierra Leone, is recovering really fast and could leave University Hospital of Geneva soon. The hepatic and blood analysis are yielding positive results, the decision to discharge is in the hands of Swiss doctors.
The director of the Institute of Tropical Medicine Pedro Kouri (IPK), Dr. Jorge Perez, said Baez is out of danger, his mood is very good and has desire to "once recovered in Cuba" return African States to continue the fight against Ebola.
Baez, belonging to Henry Reeve contingent was sent to Geneva last November 20 on a proposal from the World Health Organization (WHO). The patient, who arrived with a significant fever, was admitted to the intensive care and isolation that are prepared in a wing of HUG.
He immediately began receiving intravenous treatments, hydration due, the balance hidromineral he needed and from 48 hours to be there, his improvement was seeing every day.
IPK director added that if the patient's progress continues, Baez could be discharged early because the first analyzes are giving negative and hepatic enzymes and haematological screening are normal.
